Cancer Support

Cancer Support & Prevention

Complementary natural protocols traditionally used alongside conventional cancer care to support detoxification, immunity, and metabolic terrain. Always coordinate with an oncologist — these are not substitutes for medical treatment.

Prevention
Key nutrients: Sulforaphane, antioxidants, omega-3, vitamin D, fiber, polyphenols.
Eat regularly: Broccoli sprouts, cruciferous vegetables, berries, leafy greens, oily fish, mushrooms, green tea, turmeric, olive oil.
This complements, not replaces, oncology care — always coordinate with your team.

Bitter apricot kernels (B17 / amygdalin)

FoodTraditional use

⚠️ USE AT YOUR OWN RISK — bitter apricot kernels contain cyanogenic compounds (amygdalin) that release hydrogen cyanide in the body and have caused serious poisoning; their use for cancer is not approved by major health authorities. Traditional Hunza / Richardson protocol uses bitter apricot kernels as a source of amygdalin (laetrile / 'vitamin B17'): start very low (1–2 kernels) and build gradually, never exceeding 30–35/day. Do not combine with high-dose vitamin C IV, keep strictly away from children, and only use under the guidance of an experienced practitioner.

Pancreatic / proteolytic enzymes

OtherTraditional use

High-dose pancreatin, bromelain, papain, and trypsin between meals (à la Gonzalez/Kelley protocol) to break down fibrin coating around tumor cells.

Turmeric (curcumin)

HerbStrong evidence

1000–2000 mg curcumin with piperine or in liposomal form; inhibits NF-κB and supports apoptosis in many cancer lines.

Vitamin D3

VitaminStrong evidence

5000–10,000 IU/day (with K2) to reach a serum 25-OH-D of 60–80 ng/ml — associated with lower cancer incidence and mortality.

Medicinal mushrooms (Turkey Tail, Reishi, Maitake)

OtherStrong evidence

PSK/PSP from Turkey Tail (3 g/day) is approved adjunctive cancer therapy in Japan; Maitake D-fraction activates NK cells.

Green tea (EGCG)

HerbStrong evidence

500–1000 mg EGCG/day inhibits angiogenesis and tumor cell proliferation in lab and clinical studies.

Iodine (Lugol's)

MineralTraditional use

Traditional whole-body iodine repletion to support breast, prostate, and thyroid tissue; dose under practitioner guidance.

Black seed (Nigella sativa)

HerbModerate evidence

1–3 g/day seed oil; thymoquinone shows anti-tumor activity in multiple cancer cell lines.

Frankincense (Boswellia)

HerbModerate evidence

300 mg standardized AKBA extract 3×/day reduces brain tumor edema and inflammatory tumor pathways.

Apricot kernel oil (topical)

FoodTraditional use

Skin-restorative oil traditionally used during radiation and chemotherapy to soothe dry, irritated skin.

A note of caution. Natural doesn't mean risk-free. Herbs and supplements can interact with medications, affect pregnancy, or worsen certain conditions. Speak with a qualified clinician before starting a new regimen, especially if you take prescriptions.
