Cold Sores (Herpes Simplex)

Suppress HSV reactivation and speed healing of outbreaks.

Prevention
Key nutrients: L-lysine, zinc, vitamin C, vitamin D; lower arginine-rich foods during flares.
Eat regularly: Yogurt, kefir, cheese, fish, chicken, eggs, legumes, citrus, bell peppers.
Use lip balm with SPF — sun is a major HSV-1 trigger.
